she was SO young. she knew that it was naive to think that a man who was in his twenties could fall in love with a SIXTEEN year old. but, never the less, she couldn’t help herself when it came to falling for him. he did propose, they didn’t go on one real date, and kathleen said YES.        ❛ could you stand to listen to a SAD bride? my fiancé didn’t show up to the wedding! ❜       she felt tears in her eyes, handing the bar tender in front of her money.       ❛ the strongest of whatever you have, and make it QUICK. ❜       she told him, turning back to john.       ❛ i’m sorry to bother you, i just DON’T want to be alone anymore. ❜

john carefully watched the bride as she ordered a drink. she can’t be THAT old to be so familiar with drinking. his gaze met with her EYES, eyes of which were filled with so much pain and distress that he can’t help but be reminded of his own WIFE.– ( i’m not good enough for this.)  whom he had left in england.. his guts TWIST, no longer having the appetite for the cocktail in his hand- but he doesn’t say a thing.    that sounds awful.  his fists clench- but not in rage over this, fiancé of hers. john? john was ASHAMED of himself.    no, no, you’re not bothering me at all- i DID say i needed company.  he reassured her.    honestly, what kind of man in his right mind would DO that?! give me a name, i’ll give him a good bruising !

“mother, i am trying. i cover up my bruises, i rub my scars.
mother, i am trying. i scratch at my tears, i yank at my heart.
mother, i am trying. i reach up to the stars, i try to pull them down.
mother, i am trying. i bury my hands in the dirt, searching for something cleaner than my soul.
mother, i am trying. i plead for help, i beg for mercy.
i ask them to see, to please please see. there is something else, there is more to me.”

but it is oh so hard to be loved (p.b)

‘YIKES,’     maria made a comment under her breath, seeing a man she didn’t know next to her sling a beer down his throat rather quickly.     might want to slow down. this party won’t get any better the drunker you get.    she suggested while bringing her own drink to her lips. she was leaned against the arm of the couch, glancing around the situation. it was a stupid college party that, she was sure, most of the people here didn’t even attend college. maria was closer to that, in all honesty. she went to college, just not the one this party was being held for.     hope you don’t have classes tomorrow, if you keep slugging drinks back like that.

TO BE HONEST, he almost retched when he tasted just how bad the beer was, head tilted to the ceiling as he attempted to regain his balance. a drunk chuckle slipped from his lips as he listened to the stranger beside him.   i’m a law student– pretty sure i needed it. he groaned. no, he was pretty sure they ALL needed it, because this party was terrible. he came here to get wrecked- but god, all he needs is a drink that doesn’t taste like piss. his gaze flickered to the woman and tried to formulate a decent sentence- which is DIFFICULT to do while intoxicated, by the way-  i haven’t seen you around before. well, same goes for half the people here- but particularly you? ”               –that was real articulate of you, john, good job.
